About Us

The AOCA was recognized in 1959 as a Specialty College of the American Osteopathic Association. Just as the osteopathic profession has grown over the past 50 years, the AOCA has also grown. Our college now has over 1200 Fellows.

The AOCA is comprised of attending physicians, residents and medical students from across the United States who have dedicated themselves to the advancement of the field of anesthesiology and pain management, as well as their careers.

The college participates in the accreditation of 13 residency programs. When residency training is finished and residents become certified, they can apply for the Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiologists.

The American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiologists has expanded tremendously over the last five decades to become a strong and influential specialty college.

Osteopathic Anesthesia is part of every osteopathic physician's training. By combining this with all other medical and surgical procedures, DOs offer their patients the most comprehensive care available in medicine today.
